The isle of Sri Lanka lies in the Indian Ocean towards Southwest of the Bay of Bengal and is separated from the Indian Sub Continent by the Palk Strait and the Gulf of Mannar. Positioned between 5 and 10 North Latitude, the Island is endowed with a pleasant and warm tropical climate throughout the year with an average temperature of the low lands ranging between 25-30°C. It is a multi-ethnic, multi-religious country with a diverse and rich culture and a total population of 21 million. Five centuries before Christ, Sri Lanka was a land throbbing with vitality and a well-ordered civilization. Ancient cities, ruined palaces, colossal reservoirs, temples, monuments and works of art bear testament to the character, imagination, culture, philosophy and faith of the ancient monarchy of Sri Lanka. The Island had been known all through world history by many of its names – Serendib, Taprobane, Zellan are a few to name.
Cocoon Resort and Villas is located in Kaikawala, Induruwa; 65 kilometers south of the capital city of Colombo. The journey from the airport would take approximately 2.5 hours by road and 30 minutes by Sea Plane Tranfer.
